Reflections

One more day of carolling
Three more days till we sing on stage
Five more days till we fly off

Do you think feel we're ready?

I feel we ARE ready; we just need the confidence and independance, as well as, inter-dependance. I'm so excited at the thought that we'll be performing in a totally foreign (to me) country, and knowing that we'll come out of it stronger than before. But then again, predicting the future is bad bad bad--that is, without evidence.

Carolling today: 291107

Felt that uncommercialised homes were more sincere. the first home (Singapore Christian Home for the Aged) really touched me, and I'm sure the occupants did to most of us. I really enjoyed singing for them; even though we weren't exactly at our best what with the conditions and difficulties, we still managed to bring joy to them. :D

St. Luke's Hospital was fine, although I felt we didn't have much time to interact with the old people (but I'm sure Gabby did AHAHAHA). Our octet (OCTET 3 <3) did EXTREMELY well, right? we brought tears to one of the "Less Responsive" guys on the fourth level when we sang Little Lambs.

Bright Vision. i kinda figured out why they didnt want us to carol carol. they were in fact a buddhist home. whoops. haha. nevertheless, we still managed to bring JOY to them. many quirky and cute characters there hahaaa. i'm sure you all know what i'm talking about:D

this is elizabeth, btw, in case you haven't figured it out yet!

i still feel a few of us have to work on the issue of complaining at any and every chance you get, although i know it's difficult to adjust so quickly. try, at least, if you cant be thankful for the difficulties, be thankful in them. you'll find this familiar overseas (And also if you read this post).

We can do it!
YES WE CAN.

much love,
elizabeth♥

Yagi Bushi

Hello! i think this is the translation of Yagi Bushi :)

The famous Kunisada Chuji was born in renowned Kunisada Village, Sawagori District, Joshu Province. His father's name was Chubei; Chuji was their second son. Born with a chivalrous spirit, he would willingly fight to help others.

He became a great gambling boss, envied by all. In 1846, mid-autumn, he built a gambling palace. There he passed each day in gaming battles - today, tomorrow, everyday.

Well, I'd like to continue this tale further: a long and skilful performance would be wonderful. But a long and untalented one would upset the gathering, so as voices cry out "Stop! Stop!", I'll halt my tale right here.

Here's a picture for easy referencing. (hahaha. i hope you don't mind Claire)

This blog is deaddddd.

Ah well.

How did you all find the quartet/octet group singing today? I bet all of us were nervous, that's for sure. That wasn't how we are and will not be singing for SYF, or any other practice, RIGHT?

I sure hope not.

Let's pull up our socks and get a GOLD with Honours alright? :D

I'm very very sure we can do it!

It's the first time we're doing SYF (For Sec 1s and 2s), so, yeah, I think we would appreciate it if it was good. Oh oh, for the Sec4s too! This is their last SYF they'll be participating in... so let's let them leave with a BANG, shall we?

Is it too much to ask? :D

hey!
just wanted to clarify:
there is no need for anyone to vote anymore, since we know which one we are using.
(black one is for the pullover--members of the choir in 2006 will get it. white one is this year's tee! :D)
suggestions, feedback, comments are welcome. email alyssa if you have any requests on the tee. it's not really finalised yet, so you'd better hurry if you want/don't want any part of it. email her at alyssachenxy@hotmail.com
oh yes. as i have mentioned, please think of ideas for fund-raising. contact any sec3 Rachel, Qingling, Enqi or Claire if you have any.
thanks.
<3elizabeth
P.S. is there any marker provided for the whiteboard on the choir board? i can get one.
